I believe every play, regardless of when it was written, should be given the vitality and skepticism of a developing play so that we are better able to acclimate it to our current context.

Empathy first. 

Narratives are shaped by our ability to understand people and their circumstances. Treat every person, every character, with humanity and see what the text has to teach you. .

The past informs the present. 

Context is everything, and our modern context is informed by what came before.
